Pheramor Will Use Your DNA To Help You Get Hooked Up!

Dating has continued evolving in the world of technology. We have seen it all; from Tinder to Refrigerdating. We have seen the app Hater that hooked up people that hated the same things. We have witnessed the Dating AI that pairs you up with folks that look like your favorite celebrities and then we also have Trump Singles – a dating app intended for Donald Trump supporters. The latest, however, and with a more scientific approach is the app called Pheramor.

Pheramor Will Use Your DNA To Help You Get Hooked Up!

The app Pheramor is a unique dating service that works by matching two persons based on their chemical compatibility. The chemical compatibility is determined by carrying out analysis and comparison of the DNA of users. Yes, that’s right! This dating app makes use of your DNA to find you a suitable match. If you can afford to pay $29.99, the company will send you a DNA kit that features a buccal swab that is used for swabbing the cheek’s inside and is then sent back to the company.

Pheramor then analyzes the sample and sequences 11 genes that are linked to attraction and compares the results with the information present in its database for determining chemical compatibility. Once the comparison is complete, the company sends the user three potential matches in the user’s area every day with each possible match graded between 0 and 100 based on the level of compatibility.

Pheramor CEO and founder Dr. Brittany Barreto said, ‘When Pheramor receives your swab back, we send it to our laboratory, where they isolate your cheek cells and take out the DNA. From the DNA, we sequence your human leukocyte antigen genes or HLA genes. This is what predicts attraction. These genes encode proteins for your immune system. Scientists have shown in dozens of publications that people are attracted to one another when their HLA genes are different. That’s right! ‘Opposites attract’ is biologically true.’ According to Pheramor’s website, ‘the way species can ‘sense’ how different the DNA is in a potential mate is through smelling their pheromones.’

Pheramor was founded in February 2019 and is currently focused on expanding its DNA-dating services throughout the country. What do you think of this new dating app? Do let us know!
