Japan never fails to surprise us. A new hotel has been opened in the land of rising sun by the name of Henn-na Hotel (Strange Hotel). It is part of the Huis Ten Bosch Theme park complex located in Saesbo, Nagasaki Prefecture. The hotel has been designed by Kawazoe Lab, the Institute of Industrial Science at the University of Tokyo and Kajima Corporation. It aims at providing a pleasant and comfy stay for the guests. The hotel has been designed to be environment friendly, cost-effective, modern and yet fun.
Okay, so what really makes the hotel so amazing? Robots, yes robots, have been employed by the hotel. There are robots at the front desk to help guests with checking in and out. As per Henn-na Hotel, guests can even have a conversation with the friendly robots while they perform their tasks. A self-service check in and check out facility is also available thus removing the need to go to front desk at all.
Porter robots will carry your luggage from and to your rooms while cleaning robots make sure that no dust settles. A robot is also employed in the cloak room and objects up to the size of small bags can be handed over to its care where the robot places them in secure lockers and returns them when required.
The hotel boasts of a number of other amazing technological features as well. Guests can use keyless access for entering rooms by employing the use of facial recognition. Those who do not want to, however, can still get a card to gain access. Rooms have motion-sensors that control lighting. The lights, therefore, are turned on and off automatically. They can be controlled via tablets as well that come with hotel rooms and allows the guests to control other amenities as well.
Every room also sports a radiant panel air conditioning system that makes use of electromagnetic waves for the purpose of transferring heat directly from one object to another without disturbing the air in between. The surface, whose temperature is controlled, acquires heat from the body when it’s warm and doesn’t allow the heat to leave the body when it’s cool.
A total of 72 rooms are available after the first phase of construction, however, eventually a total of 144 rooms shall be available. Room’s rent is at $73 starting price. The hotel was opened on 17th July, 2015. So will you stay at this strange hotel?
