A new high end sim racing setup is blurring the line between gaming hardware and luxury furniture. Italian design firm Teckell has introduced the Nivola, a simulator built to resemble a stylized vintage race car, aimed at buyers who want both performance and aesthetics in a single package.
The Nivola takes inspiration from classic racing machines associated with Tazio Nuvolari, and is designed to fit into premium living spaces such as penthouses and yachts. Rather than focusing purely on competitive performance, the rig emphasizes visual design alongside functionality, as reported by The Drive.
Despite its appearance, the system includes a full sim racing setup. It features a 49 inch ultra wide curved display with a 5120 by 1440 resolution, paired with an integrated sound system. The simulator comes preloaded with Assetto Corsa Competizione and includes force feedback steering along with a quick release racing wheel.
The rig is available in multiple variants. The Heritage Edition uses wood veneer and leather materials, while the Racing Edition opts for an aluminum body. The Aero Edition goes further with a carbon fiber seat, haptic feedback pedals, and a vibration system that transmits bass effects through the chassis. Additional features include a five point harness and upgraded computing hardware.
Each unit is built to order in Italy, with production limited to around 50 units per year and a lead time of approximately 60 days. Pricing has not been disclosed, but the product is positioned as a luxury item, competing with other high end simulators that prioritize craftsmanship and exclusivity.
The concept reflects a niche segment of the sim racing market where design and presentation are as important as technical performance. While traditional rigs often focus on modularity and cost efficiency, products like the Nivola target buyers who want a permanent installation that integrates with interior design.
At the same time, the core functionality remains aligned with standard sim racing setups. Users still rely on familiar hardware components such as steering feedback systems, high resolution displays, and dedicated racing software to simulate driving conditions.
The Nivola highlights how sim racing continues to expand beyond enthusiast setups into luxury and lifestyle categories. As the market grows, manufacturers are exploring new ways to combine gaming technology with design, aiming to appeal to a broader range of users.
