Xpeng, a Chinese electric-vehicle company, debuted the G9 on Wednesday, a luxurious, fast-charging SUV that should help it compete with leading EV giants.
On the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle, Xpeng announced that this popular EV SUV has a range of up to 702 kilometres (CLTC). That applies to the long-range 702E model. This might be powered by a single motor situated at the EV’s back. The CLTC range usually is 15% more than the WLTP range used in Australia. Therefore the WLTP range on the long-range type would be closer to 600 km.
The standard range variant has a 570 km CLTC range, beginning at $44,000 USD in China. That works out to be about AUD 67,000.
The Xpeng G9 is the brand’s first EV to be built on an 800V high voltage platform. It can charge the automobile at up to 430 kW and uses the new 480 kW ultrarapid chargers that the company is presently deploying. These chargers can charge this EV from 10% to 80% in 15 minutes.
The fastest versions of the G9 SUV are the 4WD models that can accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. That’s just a tad bit slower than the Tesla Model Y Performance.
The G9 offers sleek, premium appearance with flat door handles in addition to quick acceleration, a strong range, and remarkable charging rates. It appears suitably posh inside. For the front passengers, it has calf rests and a large touchscreen.
Xpeng now sells automobiles in several European countries, including the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. The company has said that it intends to grow into a variety of new regions, including right-hand markets such as Australia.
