This Is Sony’s New Wearable Air Conditioner That Can Fit Your Pocket

Sony has unveiled Reon Pocket – a gadget that is perfect when you think about global warming. So, what is Reon Pocket? It is a portable air conditioner that can help you tackle the rising temperatures and can fit easily in your pocket.

The amazing portable air conditioner by Sony – Reon Pocket – comes from the startup acceleration program of Sony. It comprises of a small device that can easily fit into a shirt pocket and can be turned on using a smartphone app easily. The device can also be used for keeping you warm, which means can not only can it serve as an air conditioner but also a heater. The temperature can be adjusted using the smartphone app that connects to the gadget via Bluetooth.

Reon Pocket is about the size of a card wallet and can slide into the back of a specially designed shirt at the neck. According to product site of Sony, the company has carried out hundreds of simulation, and the invention is capable of cooling down a user’s body temperature by 13 degrees Celsius and can also be used for raising a user’s temperature by about 8 degrees Celsius.

The product supports Android and iOS. It comes with a battery that can last for 24 hours and needs two hours for a complete charge. The device is available in two variations; Reon Pocket Standard and Reon Pocket Lite. The standard version is more expensive because it enables users to control the temperature and air volume manually.

The device measures in at a weight of 85 grams and one shirt will cost you around $130. However, unfortunately, Sony is only launching Reon Pocket in Japan for the time being. It is already using crowdfunding for the gadget, and if the project is able to raise enough money; shipping will commence during March 2020.
