Twitter CEO Elon Musk is likely searching for a replacement.
“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job!” Musk tweeted on Dec. 20. “After that, I will just run the software & servers teams.”
Musk made the remarks after tweeting a poll on Dec. 18 asking users if he should step down as Twitter’s CEO less than two months after purchasing the social media platform for $44 billion. Approximately 58% of the 17 million people polled voted yes, while 43% voted no.
Convincing someone to take over Twitter is already proving difficult for Musk, whose hasty and seemingly erratic decision-making has drawn condemnation from almost everyone.
While working with Musk, Steve Davis, the CEO of the Boring Company, reportedly brought his newborn child to Twitter’s company headquarters. SpaceX formerly employed Davis, so he is well acquainted with the billionaire’s work ethic.
Davis has an entrepreneurial mindset, for he has held executive positions with the Boring Company, a small network of yoghurt shops, and SpaceX as a significant guidance systems engineer. All of these could result in Davis ousting Elon Musk as CEO of Twitter.
Davis has a history of odd but intriguing professional decisions. Since the beginning of the SpaceX Falcon series rocket manufacture and launches, he has worked as a rocket scientist. In addition, he operated a yoghurt shop where he sold yoghurt for USD 1.
After getting his PhD, Davis also managed the “Thomas Foolery” bar in Washington, DC. One of the bizarre novelties accessible to them was “angry hour,” when customers could shout and scream their orders.
Moreover, Davis has compared guidance systems in rocket science to launching a pencil into space while holding it balanced on one finger. In a YouTube video about his role at SpaceX, he asked, “Have you ever tried to balance a pencil on one finger?
Rocket launches are tricky and costly, but it is now possible to do it successfully and return a sizable section of the rocket to Earth without any loss. Millions of dollars in material expenses are saved thanks to this impressive feat.
If Davis is as good with Twitter as he has been with SpaceX, Twitter may undergo substantial changes.
