Global Warming is taking its toll, and the current climate change patterns dictate that only four cities on the entire planet will be able to host Summer Olympics in 2100
To counter the disastrous impact of the Global Warming, Paolo Venturella Architecture recently revealed its plans for a Global Cooling Skyscraper that will cool off the entire planet. The massive skyscraper will extend into space as well.
A greenhouse will protect the Earth from the sun, and the heat collected in the huge greenhouse will generate airflow. Thus, the wind generated will cool off the Earth and will also provide clean energy.
This architectural design is inspired by the climate change and the challenges it puts forth. The firm thinks that we are not doing enough to fight off the demon of global warming. They believe that only a global strategy can combat the advancing natural disasters.
The skyscraper will function just like a solar tower. Wind turbines will be used to power the entire structure. The futuristic design features of the wind-powered building imply that the appearance of the structure will alter depending on the observer’s location. It will appear horizontal at the equator while the observers at the Poles will see an upright structure.
The design marries architecture with environmental concern and won an honourable mention in the eVolo Magazine’s 2016 Skyscraper Competition.
