Technology advances at a very rapid rate, sometimes making it difficult for us to keep up. We then look into the past and wish for the classy old designs to get integrated with the newer technology and get revived. With this thought in mind, a startup company based in the UK named Charge is working to revive the 1960s Ford Mustang by making a fully functional all-electric version of the car.

Keeping in mind all the tiring efforts that would go in the project, the company aims to make only 499 on these cars. Making this dream a reality, this company is collaborating with an electric vehicle company also based in the UK known as Arrival. This company has developed a smart electric van and an AI-based racing platform called Roborace. As far as the specs are concerned, the car is said to have a 3300-kilowatt electric motor producing 7,500 Nm of wheel torque and 1,200 Nm of motor torque.

With this much torque, the car can do a 0-100 km/h in an impressive 3.09 seconds. The electric motor is powered by a 64-kilowatt-hour battery pack and has an extended range of 200km. The company also plans to equip the car with all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive modes which can be changed through a large touchscreen interface in the interior of the vehicle. The company is already receiving an insurance payment of around $6,400 and will be pricing the car at approximately $250,000. The charge also hopes to start deliveries of the car in September of next year.

The cars, when ready, will give the owner the feeling of owning a blast from the past integrated with the technology of the future. The company, summing up the thinking that went under, stated, “We redefine great classic cars with advanced electric technology while preserving their iconic design. Thus, we believe for emission-free future with giving the ultimate performance to epic auto legends.” The charge seems to be committed to producing cars with sustainability, luxury experience, and classic innovation all at once.
