If Carlo Ratti Associati (CRA) can build a tomato factory entirely from tomato jars, it shouldn’t come as a shock to you that the carbon fiber museum planned by them will also be build from carbon fiber, the interior at least.
The carbon fiber museum which would showcase the latest acrylic fiber technology would be located in Piacenza, Italy in collaboration with Italo Rota, a famous one in the architecture world. The project will be built mostly from carbon fiber, new and recycled, creating a dynamic approach to innovation and manufacturing where old meets new in an interesting walk-through journey.
The entrance of the museum is also made from acrylic and carbon fiber which opens like a curtain. Visitors are then guided to a robotic archive warehouse, filled with beaming white light which contains MAE’s historical documents. All this is done with the help of robotic arms, which bring the different photos, campaigns and posters from the brand’s long history to a platform where they can be viewed by the people. After the exciting history lesson, visitors walk through a long corridor where they are informed about the transformation process of acrylic fiber into carbon fiber and also the uses of fiber in our modern-day industry. Visitors can also interact with different artifacts made from carbon fiber and get to know more about its applications in car and motor industries.
