Your favourite fast food commercials include a mouthwatering image of the ingredients of a deliciously succulent burger falling from the sky and stacking themselves neatly to form the world’s most desired food.
However, this slow motion burger deconstruction does not come easy. Behind the scenes look at the creation of this burger shot without utilising the computer graphics reveals some pretty sophisticated engineering and makes one question if it really is worth it.
Steve Girlat is an ingenious videographer and hacker. He wanted to create a perfect burger shot without using complicated post-production tools. Giralt engineered a contraption using an Arduino-controlled timing system for triggering the accurate camera positioning and dropping the ingredients for the stacking burger shot.
