The Hemloft is among the most unique and smallest houses in the world. The humble abode was designed and created by a Canadian software developer-turned-carpenter by the name of Joel Allen. The egg-shaped tree house was built without a permit from the government though, and while it is known that it is located in the woods near Whistler, British Columbia; the exact location remains unknown.

Mountain Cabin is also a unique but tiny house. It has a distinct ash-grey color and is considered a landmark in the Austrian village of Laterns. It covers an area of 87 square meters and is available as a holiday cottage to tourists.

This house was designed and built by Artist Stephen Turner. It doubles up as a floating home and a research station. Stephen’s work is focused on ‘long term artistic explorations of environmental settings.’ The house was created as a collaboration between the Space Placemaking and Urban Design (SPUD Group).

Snow House was designed by Santambriogio – a design firm based in Milan. It is an all-glass house and has been constructed using light blue, hued glass, and steel frame. What sets it apart is the fact that even the internal furnishings have been crafted using the same glass.

The Transparent House covered an area of 90 square meters and was constructed by Sou Fujimoto Architects. According to the designers, the house has been inspired by the ancient ancestors that used to live in trees. The house offers amazing sunlight but no privacy at all. The house was constructed using white steel-frame and glass.
