The World’s Longest Car Has 26 Wheels And Can Fit Up To 75 Passengers

A true marvel of automotive engineering, The American Dream holds the title of the world’s longest car, stretching an astonishing 30.54 meters (100 feet). Originally constructed in 1986 by renowned car collector and customizer Jay Ohrberg, this extravagant limousine was built from six 1976 Cadillac Eldorado limousines and designed for luxury beyond imagination. It has enough space to accommodate up to 75 passengers.

When it first debuted, The American Dream was “only” 18.28 meters (60 feet) long, powered by dual V8 engines—one at the front and another at the rear. However, its fame was short-lived, and after years in the spotlight, the vehicle was left abandoned behind a warehouse in New Jersey, its once-glorious body covered in graffiti and its tires left to rot. That was until two automotive enthusiasts, Michael Dezer and Michael Manning, discovered the forgotten behemoth, determined to restore it to its former grandeur.

Manning recalls the moment he first laid eyes on the neglected limo: “I first found the car at an autobody show in New Jersey, and it was garbage. It was covered in graffiti, the windows were broken, the tires were flat, but I fell in love with it anyway. I said, ‘I’m going to get this car and I’m going to bring it back and restore it.’” After years of meticulous work and a substantial financial investment, The American Dream has been fully revived, now boasting 26 new wheels, a pristine white paint job, and even a few extra inches added to its original length.

Beyond its sheer size, what truly sets The American Dream apart are its over-the-top amenities. The limo is decked out with a swimming pool—complete with a diving board—a jacuzzi, a bathtub, a mini-golf course, and even a helipad capable of supporting a small helicopter. While technically drivable, its immense size makes navigating turns nearly impossible, limiting it to straight roads. As a result, it now resides at Dezerland Park Orlando’s Auto Museum, where visitors can admire this one-of-a-kind automobile up close.

Though it may not be the most practical vehicle, The American Dream stands as a true icon of automotive history.
