Nokia has made a remarkable recovery in the world of cell phones after Finnish start-up, HMD Global Oy, took over the exclusive license to use the brand’s name. The company first made waves with the resurgence of Nokia 3310, and now after a lot of anticipation, fans of the illustrious brand have been treated with a true flagship phone: the Nokia 8.
Nokia 8 will be a follow-up to HMD’s earlier collection featuring Nokia 3, 5, and 6, and the phone is expected to be a combination of the best features of all three. A promotional video was leaked once back in May and although it didn’t reveal much on its design and specs, the internet went into a frenzy.

In the 30-second clip above, four Android smartphones are revealed in a flamboyant fashion, with lights revealing various angles before a group shot at the end. Only two of HMD’s current 3 phones are revealed in the ad, with the Nokia 6 not even making the cut. Instead, two other handsets, other than Nokia 3 and 5, are seen that don’t correspond to any known models.
Rumors suggest that HMD will announce the phone on July 31, and Nokia 8 will be equipped with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The phone’s recent appearance in the FCC database as model number TA-1012, only strengthens this possibility.
According to Geekbench, the 5.3-inch Nokia 8 will be specs-laden, boasting QHD resolution, a Snapdragon 835 chipset, and either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The website also speculates that main camera will offer 13-megapixel resolutios and Carl Zeiss optics.
A Scandinavian retailer recently put this model for sale (as the TA-1004) for €589 (about $675), with the color choices of blue (shown), steel, gold/blue, or gold/copper.
This website has already rolled in all the specs of the mobile, although the authenticity is still not established.
