By using the all-powerful JWST, with help of data from other telescopes as well like Hubble and ALMA, the watched the emergence of this new planet. The new planet was spotted near a young star called HL Tauri, which is similar to our Sun but much farther away, about 457 light-years in the Taurus star-forming area.
