When it comes to tiny homes, lofts have become a necessity. However, there are only a few that offer the headroom of the recently completed home by Alabama Tiny Homes named Journey. It has a high ceiling throughout and gives the luxurious tiny home a spacious interior.
The Journet is the fifth house from Alabama Tiny Homes and has a 324 sq ft of floor space. It has a bedroom, fully equipped kitchen, a lounge area, and a luxury bathroom. Co-owner Klancy Brewer explained some of the details in an interview.
“The bathroom includes a full body spa panel shower head in the glass-enclosed tiled surround, an upgrade to a standard acrylic shower stall,” she said. “The shower fixtures and vanity mirror are also a flashy upgrade to what we typically put into our homes.”
A six-bottle wine cooler slots in between a 10.1-cubic foot stainless steel fridge and oven with cooktop. The elegant kitchen also includes a microwave convection own and dishwasher.
There is a drawer-style staircase that runs alongside the kitchen where each step slides our for storage area and leads up to the loft, which is equipped with a flat-screen TV. The loft is different from others as it contains a standing space so the residents can prepare for bed in comfort. The raised platform has enough space to have a queen-sized mattress.
There is six-inch cedar panelling outside with closed cell spray foam insulation on the inside and the double-paned windows also play a role in the home being energy efficient.
There is also a washer-dryer combo in the bathroom with LED lighting and an electric hot water heater. The base model costs $71,000. Extra cash needs to be spent on the extras like the convection microwave, washer-dryer combo, and a flatscreen TV.
