Tesla Model S Has The Ability To Withstand Ballistic And Bio Attacks

Tesla Model S

Tesla Model S has received a protective touch from International Armoring which helped build Rezvani’s armored SUV which looks like a tank. The appearance of the sleek vehicle was not changed while the company’s Armormax lightweight armoring division has modified the Tesla to protect it from both ballistic and bioweapon attacks. While Elon Musk’s reputation is taking hits on his production of Model 3, the car is capable of protecting anyone who is riding in the car.

As the Model S has grown some popularity, we have seen a variety of alterations made to the four-door family car. Customizers have also built Model S shooting brakes, coupes, and convertibles. This armored model of Tesla is not coming as a surprise seeing the popularity of it among the wealthy and high-profile individuals. The International Armoring’s modifications are intended to protect both the car’s key mechanicals and the people riding inside. The cabin, doors, roof, floor, and pillars all are installed with light synthetic-fiber laminates and heat-treated ballistic metals.

The glass of the car is replaced with a combination of layered glass and acrylic and polycarbonate laminates. This allows a clear view and solid protection side by side. The battery packs are also armored and the suspension is reinforced. The tires are run-flats and a siren and intercom system is also integrated into the car. The systems work well with Tesla’s own Bioweapon Defense Mode air-filtration system as well. The most impressive part of the armor is that, the special armor and glass installed in this car only adds 550pounds to the weight of the car. Since the company avoided the use of steel. The added weight will affect the performance and range of the vehicle but the total mass is not really bad for a full-sized armored sedan.

The package is providing B4, B5 and B6 levels of ballistic protection. This includes the defenses against a variety of high-powered rifles, handguns, and shotguns. The Model S modded for this project was a 2018 P100D. The company claims that it is capable to armor “a variety of trims with various features and battery sizes.” Price of the custom build armored car has not been declared yet. But for some customers, the cost is not something to be worried about.
