Tesla Has Started Hiring For Cybertruck Production – Meaning Production Could Commence Soon

Tesla is starting to hire workers specifically for Cybertruck production at Gigafactory Texas, Electrek reported.

When Tesla revealed the Cybertruck in 2019, the company stated that the electric pickup truck would be available by the end of 2021. However, as the deadline approached, the carmaker confirmed that production would be delayed until 2022.

Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, later stated that the electric pickup truck would begin production at Gigafactory Texas in “late 2022.” However, it was announced in March 2022 that Tesla intends to complete Cybertruck development this year for production in 2023, and Musk stated in June that Tesla plans to begin production in mid-2023.

Over the past few months, Tesla has stuck to its mid-2023 target date. However, it is now beginning to materialise into reality with the movement of actual production machinery tailored for the Cybertruck to the Gigafactory Texas.

While job listings and hirings don’t reveal any more solid specifics, the fact that Tesla is equipping the plant and bringing in people specifically for Cybertruck-related duties makes the electric truck appear to be a lot closer to reality.

Six job openings relating to Cybertruck are being posted by Tesla at the Gigafactory in Texas. In addition, the carmaker published five new postings for Cybertruck BIW (Body in White). One is for someone to oversee Cybertruck production.

The stage in the manufacturing process known as “Body in White” is where the vehicle’s body is assembled.

For the Cybertruck development, Tesla is also seeking a “Manufacturing Operations Leader.” Additionally, Tesla is searching for a general manager, or plant director, for its Gigafactory Texas facility to oversee all manufacturing initiatives.

To be clear, we’re not mentioning positions that might or might be associated with the Cybertruck; instead, we’re reviewing jobs that expressly refer to the “Cybertruck” term in the position’s title.
