These barns filled with 300 cars – a variety of rare and vintage cars including Ferraris, Corvettes, Fords, and Lamborghinis – were unveiled by Larry Kosilla of AMMO NYC via YouTube. These incredible cars are the property of a secret collector and most of them will be going up for auction. AMMO NYC has more than 1.35 million subscribers on YouTube and the video tour of these barns has managed to rake more than 2.2 million views. Larry Kosilla is also a car preservationist.
The owner of this collection has preferred to keep their identity anonymous but allowed the YouTube user to conduct a tour of one of the barns while also allowing for the restoration of a Bizzarrini P538 – worth $1 million. The video was filmed before the COVID-19 pandemic broke out.
The tour video has garnered millions of views and why wouldn’t it? It features some of the rarest finds from all over the US and Europe. There are cars made by Ford, Ferrari, Matra Djet, Oldsmobile, Rolls Royce, and many more. Even Kosilla hasn’t managed to check out the complete collection yet mostly because the coronavirus situation has put a stop to his plans of working on this amazing car collection.
As per Kosilla, he first heard about this exceptional car collection about three years ago. He says that the owner is one of the ‘very few people that have had access to these kinds of things and experience with these types of valuable paint jobs. They called me because my job is to preserve what’s there and to remove the very minimum amount, the least amount, without damaging what’s there.’ However, owing to the fact that the owner was traveling almost constantly, Kosilla was unable to make the visit to the collection for three years.
Kosilla says, ‘I want to shoot the videos because the videos are fun. I love talking about it and sharing it. You know how many people have emailed me like, ‘This is amazing. I feel like I was there with you. It’s so cool,’? It’s like a shared experience.’ The owner is planning to sell most of their collection in order to make room for more collectible cars. They have spent the last three decades building their collection that enjoys a total of 300 cars.
Kosilla says, while speaking of the anonymous collector, ‘I’ve met the guy a thousand times. He’s a very sweet guy, very smart. He’s driven by his passion, which is cool because he knows everything about every single one of [the cars].’ Check out the barn tour video below and do let us know what you think of it.
