Multinational company Tecno, based in Shenzhen, introduced its AI-driven Tecno AI Glass Series at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to disrupt the smart glasses market. The Meta Ray-Bans encounter competition from high-tech wearables that use Tecno’s flagship Camon 40 Premier smartphone technology, including its 50-megapixel camera for mobile life-logging.
The Tecno AI Glass Series comes with two product options: the standard model and the Pro version. The two devices use custom lens modules together with an OV50D imaging sensor and sophisticated imaging algorithms, which boost photography capabilities. Tecno implemented unique filters that improve image quality while its SmartSnap technology detects environmental scenes to generate automatic social media captions.
The Pro model stands out because of its augmented reality (AR) features, which use WaveGuide technology developed jointly with Meta-Bounds and show content on a bright MicroLED screen. The AR display delivers outstanding visibility through its 1,500 nits brightness and 30-degree wide field of view, which maintains clarity even in bright conditions. Users benefit from AR capabilities, which enable them to navigate while translating languages instantly and obtain immediate information.

The frame arms on the device feature physical controls that enable users to access Tecno’s Ella AI assistant. Ella AI enables real-time translation across more than 100 languages and schedule organization alongside memo recording and food recommendation capabilities through object recognition. Users can control all system functions through an Android mobile application.
The standard model uses magnesium alloy and composites to build its frame, which features an aviator design with a side-mounted camera, whereas the Pro model has a “browline” design with a central camera placement. The device runs on an 11-hour music battery or an 8-hour mixed-use battery and features quick-charging functionality. The device connects through Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. Tecno offers little information about their product’s price yet suggests their smart glasses will be more affordable than Meta’s version.
