Hamad International Airport (HIA) located in Doha has cinched the title of the world’s best airport at the esteemed Skytrax Awards that just took place overthrowing Singapore’s Changi Airport who have been world champion previously. Impressively, Changi Airport has retained this title for a period of 12 years.
HIA has also secured the title of being the ‘World’s best airport shopping’, as it continues its streak for the second consecutive year. Furthermore, it has also held its status and recognition as the ‘best airport in the Middle East,’ continuing its decade long unparalleled streak.
The CEO of HIA, Badr Mohammed Al Meer, voiced deep joy at the convergence of this accomplishment with the airport’s significant 10th anniversary. Al Meer credited the unwavering commitment of the airport’s staff for this victory, emphasizing their perpetual quest for innovation to maintain its eminent position in the industry.
“This year, HIA celebrates its milestone 10th year of operations, and we are truly honoured that passengers have voted us the best airport in the world for a third time,” said Al Meer.
“Skytrax prestigious awards reflect the dedication of our employees who every day help innovate and maintain our leading position,” he added.
