Samsung recently announced the launch of the new Galaxy J2 Pro smartphone. This smartphone is the first of its kind and supports all the essential functions of a phone such as calling and texting but it does not provide support to any of the connectivity functions like 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, or even WiFi.
The Samsung phone does come with DioDic4 English dictionary app, a calendar app, a calculator, and an FM radio. The phone technically does have an LTE modem, but it is disabled for everything except calls and texting. You can even choose a data plan that limits the number of texts you can send.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro is aimed towards students who need to focus on their studies without any distractions. The internet free device wouldn’t give students access to the outside world be keeping him away from social media, games, or even a web browser and keep them focused on the task at hand.
This smartphone can also be used by people who don’t use the internet from their smartphone and only need to make phone calls and send text messages. It is currently available in 2 colors, black, and gold and it costs $190.
The phone has the following specifications.
- 5-inch QHD Super AMOLED display
- 8-megapixel rear camera
- 5-megapixel front camera
- 1.4GHz quad-core processor
- 1.5GB of RAM
- 2,600mAh replaceable battery
- Storage microSD slot
Do you think people will opt for the internet free phone or has Samsung made a mistake coming up with such a phone in this modern day and age?
