The Saudi Federation of Cybersecurity, programming, and drones have recently announced a Hajj Hackathon. The event is inviting leading programmers and experts from all over the world to introduce technology and innovation to smoothen the process of pilgrimage and improve the experience of the pilgrims. The Hajj Hackathon will be held in August in Jeddah, and nearly 3000 developers are expected to register for it. The challenges included in the hackathon comprise of food and beverage, transportation and stay.
The hackathon will give prizes to the first three position holders. They will also get free tickets to the Google IO Developers Conference which will be held in 2019 and RiseUp Summit happening this year. The winners will also get Google Home Mini with Google Assistant built in and Google Cloud credit. The top twenty teams will be given Google cloud credit.
The winning team will get a grand prize which comprises of 1000,000 SAR for 15% equity investment. The runner-up will get 500,000 SAR for 10% equity investment and the second runner-up will get 350,000 SAR for 7% equity investment. The assessment of the submissions from each team will be done on the following criteria:
- Design
- Simplicity
- Impact
- Creativity
Hajj Hackathon will take place at Jeddah International Exhibition and Convention Centre. The webinar will commence on 31st July and the Hackathon will start on 1st August and will end on 3rd August.
