The latest reports suggest that the South Korean tech giant will announce a worldwide recall of the Galaxy Note 7. The unprecedented move was spurred by the social media complaints of exploding Note 7 when charged.

The company announced on Wednesday that the shipment of the latest Samsung flagship phablet would be delayed stating that:

“[the] additional tests [are] being conducted for product quality.”

An unnamed Samsung official confirmed that a faulty battery was installed in 0.1 percent of all the handsets sold.

“The problem can be simply resolved by changing the battery, but we’ll come up with convincing measures for our consumers. The most important thing is the safety of our customers and we don’t want to disappoint our loyal customers.”

Thus far, Samsung refused to comment on the rumours of a worldwide recall and sufficed with:

“We are conducting a thorough inspection. We will share the findings as soon as possible. Samsung is fully committed to providing the highest quality products to our consumers.”

Still, the Samsung users were not as unlucky as the guy whose iPhone burst into flames in his back pocket and melted off his butt.
