If you thought opening a McDonald’s in an airplane was crazy, feast your eyes on this amazing helicopter hotel room in Scotland that will be your ultimate camping fantasy. The folks at Helicopter Glamping, a company known for renovating helicopters into habitable spaces, have converted a decommissioned Royal Navy ZA127 Sea King Helicopter into a luxurious and unique hotel room, equipped with a bed in its tail and a cozy seating area in the cockpit.
This latest project by Helicopter Glamping preserves the war machine’s original features while completely overhauling the interior into a sophisticated and modern structure. The “hotel” is placed in the green pastures of Mains Farm in Stirling, Scotland, and it can host up to a family of five. The helicopter room has been insulated properly to ensure that it stays properly heated in the winter and air-conditioned in the summers.
White wooden panels are used to cover the interior, giving a feeling of enhanced space, while extra windows and doors are added to increase natural light and air circulation.
The luxury helicopter also has a single bed in the copter’s tail for that one lucky passenger, and it is equipped with a mini kitchenette boasting floating wood shelving and stainless steel counter-tops
The cockpit of the helicopter takes the cake though which is adorned with its original flight deck and converted into a fascinating and cozy seating area equipped with swivel seats. An old fuel tank cover used to make a coffee table, where you can sip away your favorite drink on a nice afternoon while enjoying Stirling’s expansive green landscape through the huge windshield in the front.
Astonishing stuff!
