When we buy a car, there are a number of things that we look for. We look at the performance, fuel economy and how fast it goes. But, now there is an option to buy a car that transforms into a 4-meter robot. The dream of owning an automotive automation is now a step closer thanks to the J-deite RIDE. It is a car that turns into a robot and back into a car like the famous Transformers.
Brave Robotics is the mastermind behind the RIDE and its transforming mechanism. They worked together with robotics software outfit Asratec, which is responsible for the Robot’s software controls. These are named V-Side and are responsible for the motion of both the robot and the vehicle as well as the transformation.
Mechanical designer Kunio Okawawara known for his mecha designs for Mobile Suit Gundam among other anime helped in the development of the technology. RIDE also took help from Sansei Technologies, which has plans to develop the technology for amusement park rides.
J-deite RIDE will make an appearance on May 5 at the GoldenWeek DOKIDOKI Festa All Working Cars Assemble! which will take place in Tokyo. Florida’s IAAPA Attractions Expo 2018 will also feature the transforming vehicle in November.
