Considering smartphone power generation hasn’t advanced all that much since cellphones were originally introduced, we imagine the next best thing would be charging technologies to charge our phones quickly. With its 150W SuperVOOC innovation, Oppo has introduced what might be one of the world’s quickest charging solutions.
Oppo is among the world’s leading smartphone manufacturers, but you’d hardly realize it if you bought all of your smartphones in the United States. Oppo is a subsidiary of the Chinese company BBK Electronics, which also owns Vivo, Realme, and OnePlus. According to Oppo’s Mobile World Congress preview, smartphones in this family will soon have a quick charging standard. Oppo has introduced a new 150W SuperVOOC fast-charging accepted standard, claiming that it would be capable of charging a 4,500mAh battery from 1% to 50% charge in only five minutes, and from 50% to 100% charge in just 15 minutes. It will initially arrive on an unannounced smartphone from OnePlus in the second quarter of this year.
Oppo has always branded its fast-changing technology as SuperVOOC, whilst OnePlus has utilized Warp charge. However, with the merger between two firms, in which OnePlus essentially became an Oppo sub-brand, it has abandoned the Warp logo in favor of SuperVOOC for its fast chargers. Surprisingly, Oppo says that its charging speeds begin at 1% rather than 0% when the battery is entirely depleted. That’s most likely because it doesn’t want to include the time it takes to go from 0 to 1.
Oppo is demonstrating a working prototype for a 240W fast-charging solution, in addition to its 150W charging technology, which should be available soon on OnePlus and Realme handsets. According to the business, this 240W SuperVOOC recharging technique can charge a 4,500mAh battery to 100 percent in just nine minutes, albeit there are no plans at the moment to market the innovation.
The developments come as OnePlus prepares to introduce its next flagship product, the OnePlus 10 Pro, outside of China, confirming its introduction previously this year in China. OnePlus now claims that the phone will be available worldwide by the end of March. A specific global opening date has not yet been disclosed. The 150W SUPERVOOC flash recharge contains the Battery Health Processor, which is controlled by OPPO’s unique rechargeable battery technology and combines two essential latest technology: Smart Battery Health Algorithm and Battery Healing Technology, to enhance the system charging efficiency. By tweaking the software and hardware, they increase charging time, security, and effectiveness.
The Smart Battery Health Analyzer can monitor the electric potential across the negative electrodes of the battery in a timely manner. It changes the charging frequency continuously within an acceptable range, thereby decreasing the risk of dead lithium while retaining the charging / discharging current. This contributes to improved battery life and supercapacitor rates.
