No one has been hurt as per reports, but the crash of Alpha Electro G2 does represent a difficult start for Norway’s plan to electrify the domestic air travel within two decades. The Alpha Electro G2 was carrying two pilots only; Dag Falk-Peterson who is the CEO of Avinor – the state-owned aviation company – and junior government minister Aase Marthe Horrigmo.

According to Reuters, another passenger Environment Minister Ola Elvestuen had been aboard the Alpha Electro G2 on a successful flight earlier that day. There is no word as to whether the crash took place because of inherent flaws that exist in a battery-powered system or was some other glitch involved. The pilot said, ‘I made a mayday call and looked for a place to land. This is not good for the work we do.’
