New Chinese Humanoid Robot Chef Serves Perfect Toast, Fresh Salad And Smiles

A Chinese robotics firm named Dobot introduced its humanoid robot Atom, which enters the market to compete with similar robots. The latest video presentation shows Atom deftly performing breakfast preparation tasks, which include flawless bread toasting and precise handling of both lettuce and cherries.

Dobot launched as a company during 2015 to develop collaborative robots and automate operations. Since its founding, The Robot Report (TRR) notes that the company built its fundamental technologies in its headquarters to create smart interactions and advanced motion control systems and intelligent sensor systems. The global deployment of more than 72,000 robots by Dobot signifies important market expansion as the company enters humanoid robotics.

Atom stands out from other products because it learns according to user adaptations. The robot stores individual preferences such as how users prefer their toast and drinks, allowing it to deliver customized culinary service. The 28 degrees of freedom system of Atom provides precise operations with an accuracy range of ±0.05 mm. Bipedal robots generally consume 42% more energy, yet Atom maintains equal mobility efficiency through its straight-knee movement system.

The autonomous operation of Atom depends on the AI-driven Robot Operator Model–1 (ROM-1) from Dobot. Atom’s showcase by Dobot indicates potential domestic application, though the company has not declared a formal market strategy.

The fast evolution of humanoid robotics occurs as companies research domestic as well as industrial applications. The Dobot Atom demonstrates how smart machines continue to expand their roles as they demonstrate their potential to support kitchens in the upcoming future.
