Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg Debuts Its New VR Headset – Designed To ‘Enable The Metaverse’

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg Debuts Its New VR Headset

On Tuesday, Meta presented its newest virtual-reality headset, a move into the world of high-end VR gadgets aimed at enticing creative and working professionals to embrace Mark Zuckerberg’s vision for an immersive digital future.

The Meta Quest Pro is the most recent addition to the company’s Oculus product line. The Quest Pro has several technological upgrades over the company’s Quest 2 headset, which debuted in late 2020.

Meta Quest Pro costs $1500 and is intended to “make the metaverse a reality.” It uses both augmented and virtual reality and has “pancake lenses” that keep it slim while providing great resolution.

The Meta Quest Pro includes a curved battery at the back for a better ergonomic fit, and it captures 4x as many pixels as the previous-generation Meta Quest 2. However, it uses LCD panels.

Moreover, the Meta Quest Pro contains ten high-resolution sensors for eye tracking, and Meta claims that it can “record natural face expressions” and translate them to a virtual avatar.

According to Meta, mixed reality will allow you to integrate the physical and virtual worlds and set up a virtual workstation while utilizing your actual keyboard and mouse.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ chip, 12GB RAM, 256GB storage, Touch Pro controllers that track their position in 3D space, and a 45W charging port are among the other features of the Meta Quest Pro.

The Meta Quest Pro is now available for preorder and will begin shipping on October 25.
