Are you a fan of high speeds and the thrill that it induces? If yes, then you are going to love Lightning LS-218. The bike is electric and therefore, clean and green, however, if you think even for a second that being electric would mean its speed is compromised, you are in for a surprise!
It is capable of generating 200hp and a torque of 168 ft-lb. This translates into one of the fastest accelerating vehicles around. It has a top speed of 351 km/h and has been designed by Glynn Kerr. It features a hand-wrapped carbon fiber work when it comes to the body of the bike and sports eight projector headlights and a very business-like Corbin seat.
Only 150 units will be created and shall come with a base price tag of $38,800. Richard Hatfield is the Lightning’s CEO and founder and he says, “One of the things you can do with an electric that you can’t do with a gas bike is make your own fuel for it. So we have a transport van based on a Sprinter, and it has three banks of three solar panels that we can slide out when we’re stationed. We can store energy in a battery pack, and most events that we go to, we fuel the bikes off the energy we harvest off of our transporter.”
We believe that is enough chit chat and now it is time for you to witness what this bike is capable of. Check out the video below and let us know what you think!
