Apple’s latest update, iOS 26.4, introduces several new customization features aimed at giving users more control over visual settings, battery management, and media playback. The update builds on existing personalization tools while expanding accessibility and automation capabilities.

The iPhone’s existing charge limit feature, which allows users to cap battery charging between 80 and 100 percent to help preserve long-term battery health, can now be integrated into the Shortcuts app. Users can create automated routines that adjust charging limits based on conditions such as location, connectivity, or time of day, enabling more dynamic battery optimization.
The update also introduces new customization options for video subtitles within the system’s default media player. Users can now choose from preset styles such as classic, large text, outlined text, and transparent backgrounds. A “Manage Styles” option provides additional controls, allowing deeper customization through Accessibility settings that were previously less visible.
These changes reflect Apple’s continued emphasis on personalization and accessibility, particularly as user interfaces become more visually complex.
