Hypersonic Cargo Jet That Will Fly 10 Times The Speed Of Sound Planned By US Firm

The future of air cargo transportation is on the verge of a revolution, thanks to groundbreaking advancements in hypersonic aviation. Hyperian Aerospace, a U.S.-based firm, has introduced an ambitious concept for a hypersonic cargo aircraft—HYPERLiner Cargo—which aims to redefine global shipping with speeds reaching Mach 10 (7,672 mph).

Hyperian Aerospace envisions a world where cargo delivery is no longer hindered by long-haul flights and logistical delays. The firm claims that the HYPERLiner Cargo will be capable of transporting 10 tons of freight anywhere in the world in under 1.5 hours. To put this into perspective, deliveries could be completed in mere minutes—New York to London in 27 minutes, New York to Dubai in 54 minutes, and a transcontinental journey from New York to Sydney in just 90 minutes.

Unlike conventional cargo planes that contribute significantly to carbon emissions, Hyperian Aerospace plans to power its aircraft using hydrogen fuel. This eco-friendly approach aims to eliminate carbon dioxide emissions, paving the way for a more sustainable future in air logistics. As the company stated, “Instead of waiting 12+ hours for long-haul cargo flights, HYPERCARGO will deliver critical freight in real-time, reshaping global supply chains.”

The firm acknowledges that the current air cargo industry faces challenges such as congested airspace and high fuel consumption. By introducing a hypersonic alternative, Hyperian Aerospace hopes to alleviate these issues. In an official announcement on LinkedIn, the company emphasized that their new aircraft will “move cargo at Mach 10 speeds, eliminating the need for slow, congested, and fuel-intensive freight aircraft.”

Comparing its proposed aircraft to traditional cargo planes, the company noted that its hydrogen-powered HYPERLiner Cargo would outperform the widely used Boeing 747 cargo jet, offering a cost-effective and sustainable alternative. “HYPERLiner CARGO isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a revolution in how the world moves freight. As the demand for faster, more efficient, and greener logistics increases, hypersonic air cargo will become the new standard,” the company asserted.

Hyperian Aerospace has not limited its vision to cargo transportation alone. The company has also showcased designs for various hypersonic aircraft, including commercial passenger jets, military surveillance and attack planes, space planes, and advanced missile systems.

Among these innovations, the SKYLIFT aircraft family stands out as a 50-passenger vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft with a range of 3,000 miles. Designed to improve air connectivity between smaller communities and major hubs, SKYLIFT could bring efficient regional transport into the hypersonic age.

On the military front, Hyperian Aerospace has introduced the HYPERMissiles series (HM1-HM3), featuring speeds between Mach 15 and Mach 25. The HM1 is designed for mounting on aircraft or stationary launchers with a 150-nautical mile range and an impact kinetic energy of 8,000 lbs. Meanwhile, the HM2 and HM3 promise extended ranges of 1,000 and up to 12,000 nautical miles, respectively, with impact forces reaching a staggering 250,000 lbs.

Another striking concept is the HYPERBomber, a military jet capable of achieving Mach 10 speeds. With a 12,000-nautical-mile range, it could theoretically reach any point on Earth within 1.5 hours, providing strategic advantages in defense and reconnaissance missions.

The race for hypersonic technology is heating up globally. While the U.S. is working on revolutionary concepts, rivals like China and Russia have already made significant advancements in hypersonic weaponry and vehicles. Beijing, in particular, is actively testing hypersonic vehicles for various applications, making it imperative for American firms to accelerate their progress in this sector.

Although still in the design phase, Hyperian Aerospace’s innovations could serve as a game-changer for U.S. defense and logistics in the years to come. If successful, hypersonic technology could redefine transportation, making global cargo and passenger travel faster, cleaner, and more efficient than ever before.
