The iOS 11 has been in beta testing for months, and during this time, the company even made the blunder of posting an under the test build of its upcoming operating system on a public server. Now that the iOS 11 is done with all stages of testing, Apple released it to the public this Tuesday. The number of phones running on iOS 11 within a minute of its launch was higher than the ones running on latest Android Oreo 8.0.
The latest OS is both good news and bad news for the all the iPhone and iPad fanatics. It brings tons of new features, improvements, bug fixes, and a lot more. Unfortunately, not all of it is good.
Every time you get a software update on your old phone, it is bound to cause one problem or another. Many people have reported that the new update slowed their phones down, but there is another bigger problem. Every time you upgrade the OS on your phone, you will experience a faster battery drain in the beginning. Generally, this happens because of the Spotlight re-indexing and other shuffling immediately after the update. Additionally, you use your phone a lot more just exploring the new features.
For most people the iOS 11 has proven to improve the battery life, however, others particularly the users of older phones like iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have reported that battery is draining quicker. Some users of the iPhone 7 have complained about the same problem, but most say the battery life only improved.
If you are experiencing the battery problem after getting the iOS 11 update, you can take a few steps to improve on it. Limit the number of apps that refresh in the background by going to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and also restrict the number of apps from tracking your location from Settings > Privacy > Location Services. If that does not make enough difference, use your phone in the low power mode until Apple releases next upgrades to fix the issue.

Among many other features of the new iOS 11 update, you get to phone display to invert colors by going to Settings> General > Accessibility > Display Accommodations > Invert Colors.
