Here Is The Scientific Reason Why Losing Weight Is So Damn Hard

(Source: New Atlas)

As it happens, simply cutting down on calories doesn’t cause weight loss to take place because doing so results in your body activating an array of mechanisms that prevent you from losing weight. We all know that losing weight is hard, really hard. Why is that so? Furthermore, did any of you know that there is an actual scientific reason why you are not able to lose weight easily?

The YouTube channel, SciShow, writes in this peculiar video’s description, ‘You probably know that losing weight is really hard. But it may not be just because of your cheat day frequency; your body actually fights back to make losing weight harder.’ Yes, you read that right; your body does resist the change in its weight and creates an obstacle for those who are trying to lose weight.

The video will explain in detail about why eating in lesser quantities does not actually work by telling how your body handles the deficiency in calories. As it happens, trying to lose weight causes the body to trigger weight-gaining hormones. The way we see it; this is the inertia that Newton talked about!

The whole video has basically shed a shining light on how difficult and next to impossible is it to lose weight. For instance, how many of you were aware of the fact that dieting for the sake of losing weight causes your body to end up liking food even more?

The video actually explains why people struggle with losing weight so much. The about section of this famous YouTube channel reads, ‘SciShow explores the unexpected. Seven days a week, Hank Green, Michael Aranda, and Olivia Gordon delve into the scientific subjects that defy our expectations and make us even more curious!’
