The Reddit user VAN-Wilder has stirred the internet by the fantastic job he has done on a rusty old 2006 Ford van that he bought off Craigslist.
Even the floors of the cargo van were badly rusted.
The Reddit user knew just how to transform this neglected heap of metal into a stylish camper. He started off by ripping out all the stuff inside the Ford van.
The rusting was taken care of by the angle grinder.
Next came a coat of primer.
The finishing effect was a coat of glossy black paint on the floor.
He used liquid nails to stick the runners to act as a resting surface for the flooring.
Next, the insulation was put in place.
The insulation was topped off with a layer of OSB plywood.
Some holes were patched up.
More insulation went on the walls.
A hole was cut out in the van side to house a propane tank. A hinged door secured the tank in place.
He ordered a customised high rooftop for the van.
Once installed, it offered him more than six feet, five inches of standing space.
A fan was installed in the hole made in the high-roof to ensure circulation.
Next, Lonseal heavy duty flooring was cut down to size and installed.
Finally, the bedframe was installed. Notice the Luan plywood finishing on the walls.
The power system was put in place.
And of course, a modern camper is incomplete without solar panels to power up your sound system.
The lighting changes the entire mood.
A burner to toast your marshmallows on.
The underside of the bed offers a lot of space for storage.
