Richard Davis developed a bulletproof vest which was flexible and lightweight. Other people were having a hard time believing his invention could actually stop a bullet. He gave many demonstrations by shooting the vest on the ground and tied to a wooden post but people were still skeptical.
To prove his claim beyond any reasonable doubt and to ensure his product actually works, he took a drastic self. He wore the bulletproof vest himself and shot himself. You can see the video below to see how it turned out:
