Football-like Kamikaze Drone With 155 MPH Speed, 40-mile-Range Unveiled In US

An American startup, XDown, has introduced its latest innovation in unmanned aerial systems (UAS) with the P.S. Killer (PSK)—a compact, high-speed kamikaze drone that resembles an NFL football.

Described by XDown as a “throw-and-forget multi-role tactical UAS,” the PSK can be deployed in just two seconds—a soldier simply grabs it, powers it on, and hurls it towards the target. Despite its small size, the drone packs a punch: weighing only 1.7 lbs, it can carry payloads of equal weight, reach speeds of 135 knots (155 mph), and travel over 40 miles depending on its load.

Designed primarily for U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF), the PSK enhances stealth, speed, and swarm attack capabilities. Its adaptability allows it to serve multiple battlefield roles, including intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), precision strikes against tanks and armored vehicles, counter-UAS operations, and even logistics support by delivering supplies like food, ammunition, or medical kits. It can also aid in maritime missions, such as search and rescue or coastal defense.

XDown envisions the PSK as a cost-effective and strategic asset for the military, offering a high-value target (HVT) strike capability with minimal effort. Founder Alexander Balan emphasized its efficiency, stating: “Imagine, I can upload the mission in a second, throw it from here, forget about it, and it will strike a high-value target 40 miles away—fast, accurate, and quiet.”

While the price and official launch date remain undisclosed, XDown claims the PSK will be competitively priced, making it an attractive option for modern warfare.
