Earth Day is to President Trump as Kryptonite to Superman. Or at least it seems like that with the POTUS dabbling past and avoiding the issue of climate change even in his tweets on the Earth Day.
Trump was seen again polishing his political agendas and used even the Earth Day to talk about jobs.
“Economic growth enhances environmental protection. We can and must protect our environment without harming America’s working families. That is why my administration is reducing unnecessary burdens on American workers and American companies, while being mindful that our actions must also protect the environment,” Trump said.
So the plan is clear: remove climate change references from White House website, revive the Keystone pipeline, cut down federal funding for scientific research and gut the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) greenhouse gas emissions rules in the name of economic prosperity.

The fact that White House’s statement on Earth Day deliberately and shamefully tried to avoid the impending doom caused by climate change speaks volume about their insistence on anti-science and “alternate facts” stance. Trump also conveniently forgot to mention the thousands of people and scientists who took part in the March for Science in Washington, D.C. on Saturday in direct opposition to the Trump administration’s appalling motives.
He also iterated a line frequently used by the climate change deniers:
“My Administration is committed to advancing scientific research that leads to a better understanding of our environment and of environmental risks,” Trump said.
“As we do so, we should remember that rigorous science depends not on ideology, but on a spirit of honest inquiry and robust debate,” Trump said.
He followed up with this tweet later in the day.
As the Cree Indian Prophecy says,
“Only when the last tree has been cut down, the last fish been caught, and the last stream poisoned, will we realize we cannot eat money.”
It seems this is on the cards sooner rather than expected with Trump in charge.
