Elon Musk Says AI Will Be Smarter Than Any Human By 2025

For years, humans have fantasized about how technology will alter the future. We frequently see these forecasts in movies, with artificial intelligence systems dominating every aspect of existence.

Many people believe that the future is far beyond our lifespan. However, Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated that this vision may be realized next year.

“Next year, AI will most likely outperform human intelligence. The billionaire claimed that by 2029, AI will most likely be smarter than all humans together.

Elon Musk made the above statement in reaction to a clip from the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. It included an interview with futurist Ray Kurzweil, who stated: “We’re not quite there, but we will be there, and by 2029 it will match any person. I’m actually considered conservative. People think that will happen next year or the year after.”

“I said that in 1999. I said we would match any person by 2029. So 30 years, people thought that was crazy.”

“Stanford had a conference that invited several hundred people from around the world to talk about my prediction, and people thought that this would happen, but not by 2029. They thought it would take 100 years.”

Musk expressed similar ideas last year at the first AI Summit, which was documented in this Inquirer Tech piece.

The SpaceX CEO told UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak that the technology might be “the most disruptive force in history.”

“We will have something that is, for the first time, smarter than the smartest human,” he said.

“It’s hard to say exactly what that moment is, but there will come a point where no job is needed.”

“You can have a job if you want to have a job for personal satisfaction. But the AI would be able to do everything,” Elon Musk added.

After a brief silence, the prime minister of the United Kingdom said, “I don’t know if that makes people comfortable or uncomfortable.” Both he and the audience chuckled nervously in response. Musk creates artificial intelligence initiatives despite his strong opinions.
