Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, has unveiled a new business initiative. Musk has released a fragrance called “Burnt Hair.” Musk, who changed his Twitter bio to “perfume salesman,” hailed the Burnt Hair scent as the “finest fragrance on Earth.”
Musk further explained his choice to produce a perfume under his brand, The Boring Company, writing, “Why did I even fight it for so long!?”
Burnt Hair is a little red bottle with the name written in cursive silver letters and “singed” in bold font. The fragrance of Burnt hair perfume, according to The Boring Company’s website, is like “the essence of repugnant desire.”
“Just like leaning over a candle at the dinner table, but without all the hard work,” the website reads. “Stand out in a crowd! Get noticed as you walk through the airport.”
The perfume is currently available for purchase for $100.
The perfume can be purchased in any form, even cryptocurrency. Musk stated on Twitter, “And you can pay with Doge!” Later, Musk tweeted that 10,000 bottles had been sold.
In a previous tweet in September, the billionaire stated that Boring Co. would launch a smell for men to help them “stand out in a crowd.”
While the CEO of Tesla Inc. has a history of creating items based on jokes, his vast fanbase has made them into highly sought-after collectibles.
Boring Co. sold 20,000 flamethrowers in 2018 to fund $10 million for tunnel-building testing, drawing attention. He has also used such goods to tease investors betting on his EV enterprise, such as a ‘TeslaTequila’ based on an April Fools’ Day joke that resulted in a share drop and a pair of ‘short shorts’ satin underwear (priced at $69.420) to celebrate a victory over short sellers.
According to Elon Musk, the Boring Co. plans to construct a functional Hyperloop—a tunnel-based, high-speed transportation system in the upcoming years. However, many challenges still exist, including receiving project approvals and passing environmental assessments.
