Elon Musk Has Given A Seemingly Salty Reaction To The Launch Of The Threads App

Twitter founder Elon Musk recently discussed Threads, a new mobile application from Mark Zuckerberg that has been dubbed as Twitter’s biggest threat. An iOS and Android text-sharing app called Threads was created by Instagram and launched. Musk made it clear that he preferred Twitter over Instagram, saying, “It is infinitely preferable to be attacked by strangers on Twitter than to indulge in the false happiness of hide-the-pain Instagram.”

Since its debut, Threads has gained over 5 million users within four hours, sparking conversations and criticisms. Musk took to Twitter to reply to those criticizing the app, engaging in a spree of responses. Zuckerberg’s company, Meta, launched Threads as an app designed for real-time updates and public conversations through text, providing a separate space for users.

In a blog post, Meta stated their vision for Threads, aiming to expand Instagram’s success with photos and videos into the realm of text. They want to create a positive and creative environment where users can express their ideas. Threads allows users to connect with friends and creators who share their interests, including individuals from Instagram and beyond. The post also emphasized the importance of safety and user controls, ensuring a secure experience.

In response to a user who questioned whether Threads could surpass Twitter in popularity, Zuckerberg expressed his belief in the potential of a public conversations app with over one billion users. He mentioned that Twitter had the opportunity to achieve this but fell short. Zuckerberg hopes that Threads will fill this gap and become a platform for widespread public discussions.

The introduction of Threads by Instagram has generated excitement in the tech community as the battle between social media platforms continues to heat up. It’s unclear how well Threads will perform in the very competitive social networking space given Musk’s open comments and Zuckerberg’s big plan.
