According to revelations from the upcoming book “Battle for the Bird,” Elon Musk’s interest in acquiring Twitter was sparked after a request to shut down the @ElonJet account, managed by Jack Sweeney, was denied by former CEO Parag Agrawal. Sweeney’s account, dedicated to monitoring Musk’s private jet using publicly available data, incurred the ire of the Tesla CEO, prompting him to explore avenues for Twitter’s acquisition.
Reportedly, Musk’s attempts to persuade Agrawal to remove the tracking account were unsuccessful. Subsequently, Musk began purchasing Twitter shares, initiating discussions with founder Jack Dorsey.
