Dyson has introduced a travel-friendly version of its flagship hair dryer, aiming to address portability and international usability concerns that limited earlier models. The new device, called the Supersonic Travel, is designed for users who need a smaller, more adaptable styling tool on the go.
The updated model is approximately 32 percent smaller than the original Supersonic and now includes universal voltage support, allowing it to be used in different countries without external converters. This marks a practical upgrade for frequent travelers, according to T3.
Dyson has retained core features from its existing lineup, including intelligent heat control that monitors airflow temperature multiple times per second to reduce heat-related damage. The device also includes a scalp protection mode that automatically adjusts temperature for gentler drying near the roots.
The Supersonic Travel maintains compatibility with attachments designed for earlier Supersonic models, including the Supersonic Nural range. This approach allows users to reuse existing accessories rather than purchase new ones, addressing compatibility issues seen in some of the company’s previous product updates.
Out of the box, the device includes a styling concentrator attachment, with additional accessories such as diffusers and combs available separately. These options allow users to tailor the device to different hair types and styling preferences.
The product is priced at £249.99 in initial markets, with availability currently confirmed through Dyson’s official channels. Pricing and release details for other regions have not yet been announced.
The launch reflects a broader trend toward compact, travel-oriented personal care devices that maintain performance while improving convenience. By combining reduced size with global usability, Dyson is positioning the Supersonic Travel as a more versatile option within its hair care lineup.
