Difficult travel destinations (3)

Travelling is fun, there is no doubt about it, but that never means it is a piece of cake. A lot of people that love traveling are heard saying they would go everywhere and all the time if money was not a restriction. Even with the luxurious modern day travel, it is not quite as easy as one might imagine. The worst part is not even remembering to pack everything you might need, nor it is the struggle of finding a toilet on the way. It is simply the difficulty of going places, which means there are still places on earth that no human has been to.

A famous YouTube channel called RealLifeLore has created a video that aptly shows how traveling has changed for humans over time. And even after the progress, what are the places that still nearly unreachable.

Most inaccessible places are undoubtedly mountain peaks, while some of these might just be unreachable, some are illegal even to travel to. This points to the Gangkhar Puensum in Bhutan, the highest unclimbed mountain in the world that lies at a border with China.

Then comes the Annapurna, an 8,000 meters peak in the Himalayas of Nepal. 191 people have actually been to the mountain peak, but one in four people who tried have died.

This is not even the toughest, top of the list goes the Muchu Chhish in Pakistan. Only two individuals in the recorded history have tried to reach the top of this mountain, and none has succeeded. The mountain is only 7,453 meters high, but the incredible steepness makes it impossible to conquer.

You might think the only unreachable places would be mountain peaks, but it is not really so. One on the list is this magnificent island of Pitcairn, the least populous national jurisdiction in the world. From east to west, the island measures just 3.6 kilometers, inhibiting 49 people.

Beautiful isn’t it? A perfect place to retreat into, if you want to get away from the hustle bustle of the real world. The only way to get to the island is a boat that travels to the island every three weeks. The closest airport is 500 km away, and unless you have your own yacht, once you get there it will be weeks before there is any way out of that place. If the neighbors are friendly, you are good to go. If not, run for your life. Or maybe swim through the Pacific for your life.
