Guangzhou Xiaopeng Automotive Technology (XPENG) introduced Iron as its upgraded humanoid robot to mark a significant advancement in robotic development. The AI Tech Tree strategy from XPENG introduced Iron as its latest product, which combines artificial intelligence with mobility features and advanced automotive technology.
Iron stands at 5’8″ with 154 pounds of weight while using 60 joints and 200 degrees of freedom and 22 degrees in hand movements for accurate object handling. The Turing AI chip developed by XPENG operates at 3,000 TOPS, which matches supercomputer performance levels.
The Tianji AIOS software system from XPENG enables 2,700 verifications of its AI models with 30 billion parameters in only 40 days, which exceeds industry standards by three times. The system enables Iron to make choices like a human being and walk smoothly and interact through natural speech.

The 720° Eagle Eye visual system of Iron provides superior environmental awareness through an AI core system identical to XPENG’s autonomous EVs. The system unites robotics technology with smart mobility through a single interface.
The operational part of XPENG’s EV production lines already uses iron as an active component that functions beyond experimental status. XPENG plans to introduce Iron into multiple industries, including retail and office spaces and residential areas, for potential use as personal assistants and administrative workers.
XPENG faces intense competition from Tesla’s Optimus as it releases its Iron product. The robot’s performance, together with its technological integration, represents a major advancement toward robots sharing the workplace with smart mobility systems in the future.
