Grand Indian weddings are nothing new or out of the blue. India has had a tradition dating back centuries to hold extravaganza affairs when it comes to the marriage of heirs to the kings, nobles, and nawabs. Nowadays, heirs to billionaires hold the same status, and India has no billionaires more prominent than Mukesh Ambani. This weekend was about the pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani, heir to the mogul of reliance industries.
The who’s who of the world gathered in Jamnagar for the festivities, including Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates. The latter was especially impressed by the outfit donned by Facebook’s founder. “You’ve always been great at dressing for the occasion, @zuck!” Gates, 68, captioned a smiling photograph of himself and the 39-year-old Meta CEO.
Gates himself was in a sporty look for the event, wearing a black sports coat over a green polo-style shirt and khakis in the image. In contrast, Zuckerberg wore an embroidered Sunderbans Tigress shirt from Rahul Mishra Couture and white pants for the event at the Ambanis’ animal rescue.
Bill was accompanied by his girlfriend Paula Hurd at the celebrations in Jamnagar. The occasion was fitting as a precursor for the main event scheduled in July, when Anant Ambani will tie the knot with Radhika Merchant, the daughter of Encore Healthcare Private Limited CEO Viren Merchant.
The Zuckerbergs kept their followers posted through Instagram. Priscilla Chan, Mark Zuckerberg’s wife, was also accompanying him. The first picture they posted was of the couple in which Zuckerberg’s suit featured gold dragonfly embellishments while Chan’s black dress featured some gold flowers to match. The post was captioned, “Love an Indian wedding. Congrats to Anant and Radhika.”
In another post, Chan wore a floral and gold dress captioned “night two”.” The event was as luxurious and grand as it could get when it comes to traditional Indian extravaganzas. The venue, Ambani Estate in Gujarat, also hosted dignitaries like Ivanka Trump, Hillary Clinton, and Bhutan’s royal family members.
