Apple’s watch was launched back in September while the price being quoted by Tim Cook was $349. However, he didn’t go into much detail about the product. Now we have news (as always, from anonymous sources) that point towards different prices as per versions of the watch.
According to one such source, the stainless steel model shall be available from $500 whereas the gold version will cost $5,000. In Tim’s defense; he said the prices would start, yeah Start, from $349. This source also hinted towards the fact that Apple might be releasing this wearable by Valentine’s Day. Source said; ‘After cooking one of our most reliable contacts – which obviously wishes to remain anonymous – we can lift the veil a little on the prices.’ However, readers are warned for in words of the source; ‘impossible to be absolutely certain of the truth of these indiscretions.’
It is being speculated that the Apple watch will be available in three models; Sport, stainless and gold. In gold edition there are going to be two more variations; rose gold and yellow gold with the price ranging from $4,000 to $5,000.
Angela Ahrendts, Apple’s senior vice president of retail and online stores said; ‘We’re going into the holidays, we’ll go into Chinese New Year, and then we’ve got a new watch launch coming in the spring.’ Apart from all these news, there is another set of news floating around that says that Apple is not quite satisfied with the battery timing of the wearable gadget. From what Cook has revealed about the battery life so far, we know that we will have to ‘charge it at night.’
Jeff Williams, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Operations, said in an interview to Bloomberg Business Week; ‘We want to make the best product in the world. One of our competitors is on their fourth or fifth attempt, but nobody is wearing them.’
So far what we can tell from Apple’s silence on the battery is that the company is working on improving it and well that’s a good thing because in order to be a success in the market, Apple has to make sure that it comes with an amazing battery time.
