AI-Controlled Drone Reportedly Goes Rogue And Kills Human Operator In Simulated Test

Shocking reports emerged recently, claiming that an AI-enabled drone had gone rogue and killed its human operator during a simulated test conducted by the U.S. Air Force. The revelation came from Col Tucker ‘Cinco’ Hamilton, the USAF’s Chief of AI Test and Operations, during a presentation at the Future Combat Air and Space Capabilities Summit in London. However, subsequent statements from an Air Force spokesperson clarified that no such test had been conducted, and Hamilton’s comments were taken out of context.

During the presentation, Hamilton discussed the pros and cons of autonomous weapon systems with a human operator providing the final decision on attack orders.
