Although the smartphone features are improving with the passing time yet, they still can’t perform all the functions of a computer. Today, we present a little gadget with the features that no smartphone can replace. It sucks to take a heavy and large laptop with you to your work. Therefore, the GPD is making a laptop small enough to fit in your pocket.
The GPD Pocket is a tiny laptop with a 7-inch display weighing only 0.480 kg with both Ubuntu 16.04 and Windows 10 OS versions available. The laptop is crowd-funded and with still two more months left; the Indiegogo campaign has already achieved 266% of its pledged goal of $200,000.
The GPD Pocket 7.0 is not the first product from the company. In fact, the company has already launched a small gaming laptop GPD Win; that too after a successful crowd-funding campaign.
The GPD Pocket measures just 7.1 x 4.2 inches with a 7-inch 1080p IPS Gorilla Glass 3 touchscreen display. It is embedded with an Intel Atom x7-Z8700 Cherry Trail processor. The presence of 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Flash Drive makes this product ideal for everyday use. The 7000 mAh Lithium Polymer battery is supposed to last 12 hours on a single charge. It includes USB 3.0, USB-C, HDMI ports and a 3.5-mm headphone jack.
The retail price of the laptop will be $599, but you can pre-order the GPD Pocket on Indiegogo for a $399 and get it shipped by June. Backing for $399 may be a bit risky, but considering the successful delivery of the GPD Win; there is an excellent chance that the company will get the laptops shipped by the promised date.
