Buying a new iPhone is too mainstream, why not build one all by yourself! A YouTuber going by the name of Strange Parts gives an incredibly detailed tutorial on how he built an essentially refurbished iPhone 6S 16GB entirely from parts of old, discarded phones along with some new spare parts bought from the markets in Shenzhen, China.
The creator writes in his video description,

 

“I’ve been fascinated by the cell phone parts markets in  for a while. I’d walked through them a bunch of times, but I still didn’t understand basic things, like how they were organized or who was buying all these parts and what they were doing with them.”

It is probably the only iPhone ever assembled by an American, but still a cool project which took the YouTuber cum programmer nine months and over $300!
